Easter at Christ Church

"For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time"

1 Corinthians 15:3-6

Easter is the high point of the Christian calendar, when we celebrate the fact that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, rose again from the dead and appeared to many people. This is a time to get to the heart of the Christian gospel and to re-set our priorities so that the most important things have first place in our lives.Whether you're just investigating or if you're wanting to grow as a Christian, you'd be very welcome at any of our special Easter meetings:

Maundy Thursday Supper: Thursday 18th April, 8pm (in the church hall)

In this simple and informal meeting we gather round tables, eat bread and wine together and prayerfully read through the events of the night before Jesus died.

Good Friday Mediation: Friday 19th April, 1.30pm

A time of quiet reflection, where we focus on the world-changing death of Jesus Christ. We hear from the Bible and respond with silence and songs.

Easter Sunday Altogether Service, Sunday 21st April, 10.30am

A joyful communion service for all ages celebrating the life-giving resurrection of Jesus, when death itself was defeated.

Easter Treat Family Fun, Easter Sunday 21st April, 4-6pm (in the church hall)
